Paul

Ballet dancer Paul McLinden.

Inspired by seeing Rudoph Nureyev perform at the Royal Opera House at the age of 8, Paul spent his early life training in classical ballet and sharing the stage with some of ballet's biggest stars (Ivan Vassiliev, Carla Fracci, Nina Ananiashvili) before his introduction to the world of Pilates. He went on to train at Central School of Ballet and later trained in Pilates with Alan Herdman, the Godfather of Pilates in the UK. Paul went on to open the first fully equipped Pilates studio in Brighton back in 2002 and continues to this day teaching at his own boutique style studio in central Hove. He remains one of the most recognisable names in the Pilates industry, having certified 100's of teachers and has presented master class workshops in 5 different continents. Paul has a dream that within his lifetime ballet will become fully accessible, inclusive and open to everyone. He hopes to help remove the stigma that ballet is an elitist art form. He wants Ballet to be accepted as a fun, enjoyable form of dance & movement for anyone, irrespective of race or gender, and wishes the same for pilates and yoga.

Matteo

Matteo’s journey with Pilates began in 2015. Prompted by osteopaths and tired of living daily with aches and pains, he started studio equipment Pilates classes, which brought profound transformation to his health and vitality. In 2021, he certified from Evolve Movement Education’s Comprehensive Studio Pilates Teacher Training program under the mentorship of Ana Barretxeguren, the creator of Moving Fascia. Matteo has been teaching from beginners to advanced level reformer classes, mat and studio equipment classes, welcoming clients with various conditions, spine pathologies and injuries, to help them with their rehabilitation. With a hands-on approach and by tuning into a client’s body, Matteo creates a safe space where clients can experience and create healthy connections with their bodies and movement.

Jane

Jane Waterfall trained at London Contemporary Dance School and then completed a Pilates apprenticeship training with Alan Herdman.  Further sports performance and injury rehabilitation training in the US opened up Jane’s wider interest in exercise as medicine.

Jane ran her own personal training, massage and Pilates business in London for seven years and then moved to Sydney, Australia where she managed a Pilates studio that was part of an integrated medical clinic. Returning to the UK eight years later, Jane opened a studio in Malvern where she specialised in working with older people with a history of falls.

Having recently moved to Brighton, Jane looks forward to working with you whatever your goals.
