Paul

Ballet dancer Paul McLinden.

Inspired by seeing Rudoph Nureyev perform at the Royal Opera House at the age of 8, Paul spent his early life training in classical ballet and sharing the stage with some of ballet's biggest stars (Ivan Vassiliev, Carla Fracci, Nina Ananiashvili) before his introduction to the world of Pilates. He went on to train at Central School of Ballet and later trained in Pilates with Alan Herdman, the Godfather of Pilates in the UK. Paul went on to open the first fully equipped Pilates studio in Brighton back in 2002 and continues to this day teaching at his own boutique style studio in central Hove. He remains one of the most recognisable names in the Pilates industry, having certified 100's of teachers and has presented master class workshops in 5 different continents. Paul has a dream that within his lifetime ballet will become fully accessible, inclusive and open to everyone. He hopes to help remove the stigma that ballet is an elitist art form. He wants Ballet to be accepted as a fun, enjoyable form of dance & movement for anyone, irrespective of race or gender, and wishes the same for pilates and yoga.
